What is the True Cost of My Clubs?
Note: cash or check only. Prices like everything else we do is custom, based on what you want to spend.
To understand how our fitting is different check out integrated fitting page. For the most comprehensive and most thorough fit we charge the following:
Woods and Putters: $75 each
Full bag fit: One time fee of $250 if paid in full in advance plus the wedge fitting below
Wedge fitting is a separate experience and is a combination lesson and fitting so the cost is separate and $75 for about 1.5 hours.
A set of seven irons at Power Golf will cost you anywhere from $999 for our base models and up. Of course PXG irons are the best on the planet and accordingly the most expensive but we can get you fantastic results with any of our clubs. It is not so much the name on the components as the fitting expertise of the person you are working with and the time and care given to the assembly process for your custom clubs. We deliver the same great service no matter what you spend. Of course the better the components the better the results. Sample pricing for PXG is shown below. If you specific questions don’t hesitate to call. Please note that the PXG pricing is MRSP in American dollars and includes choice of grip and shaft. All of our clubs are shaft aligned, MOI matched and frequency matched to suit your swing and physique. We guarantee a higher percentage of center face contacts than any other alternative out there.
Many of our clients have bought custom clubs elsewhere. For one reason or another they show up at our studio and when we test them we are able to get them more distance, higher shots and straighter shots. At that point they are faced with a dilemma: what can I do with those expensive new clubs that I just bought elsewhere? Imagine how important it is to get the right clubs in your hands the first time and how much cash and anguish that will save you.
My tailor used to have a sign in his window that quoted, Benjamin Franklin:
“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.”
I bought his suits decades ago and those timeless designs, premium quality, and perfectly fitted suits still look great on me today. No one ever regretted buying quality.
In the business world we use what we call the TCO, the total cost of operating and this is what a lot of amateur golfers are missing in the pricing decision. I’ve had customers who bought my irons and paid a premium 12 years ago but they’re still playing these clubs today. So the annual cost of using my clubs was, (in 2002$) 1200 ÷12 for a yearly cost of 100 dollars. Also they have not needed to spend as much on lessons as their playing partners have spent. The lessons they did take were much more effective. Their scores came down and they enjoyed playing more.
Others who did not buy my clubs have bought 4-5 sets of clubs since that time and have paid out $12,000 for new clubs over the same 12-year period or $1 000 per year. They are still not hitting the new clubs as well as my clients hit my clubs. Their handicaps and scores have not gone down. And worse they have missed out on 12 years of playing the game with more skill and more enjoyment.
Here is how a recent client said it:
I was fairly certain that something would change with my ball flight if the club maker had strong credentials for club making *and* swing coaching *and*golf fitness but I was very surprised how fast things changed.
Every golf hole seems different now. The game seems different now.
I wish I met you 20 years ago when I first started playing golf.

An old saying puts it this way: you can pay me now or you can pay me later but if you choose not to get fitted properly and refuse to pay for properly fitted clubs, you will suffer the fate of most amateur golfers; that is, inconsistent play, shorter shots, higher scores, plateauing and frustration year after year. Ask yourself how much is it worth to you to get properly fitted and really play your best, which leads to much greater enjoyment.
The average score for golfers without custom clubs has not changed in 30 years. Average handicap for my customers who have bought Power Golf custom clubs has been on average 50% lower than before they bought my clubs within one season!
So on the issue of cost you have to look at the short-term and long-term cost in financial terms and you have to look at the cost to your sanity and to the enjoyment of this great game that we all love.
People have described my golf clubs as “a feel to die for” and that they have found a new love for the game. By choosing low-price options which are not suited to your swing and body type you are depriving yourself of the enjoyment that comes from our great game!
“Buying golf clubs without a custom golf club fitting is like buying a pair of shoes or a suit without checking the size!” My clubs are “tailored” to your swing like a custom fitted suit!
Why not get the best for only a little higher cost than off the shelf clubs; but over time a lot less cost and a lot more fun?
A quote from a client:
” I have been playing Brian’s custom clubs for 14 years, and like everyone else, I tinker around with the new editions of branded clubs each year. I haven’t switched, because I haven’t found a better performing club for my personal needs. My set was made specifically for me – no one else’s set is exactly the same.
